My name is Lisa Lowe and I am a fully qualified, traditional acupuncturist working from a quiet and relaxing clinic in Wickersley, Rotherham.
I started my clinical career in 2001 after qualifying as a physiotherapist, and subsequently joined the Army as a Physiotherapy Officer in the Royal Army Medical Corps. During my military career, I specialised in the use of acupuncture for musculoskeletal and neurological pain; culminating in the completion of an MSc in Western Medical Acupuncture, for which I was awarded a Distinction grade.
My passion for acupuncture led me to take redundancy from the army and enrol on a three year degree-level training course at The Acupuncture Academy in Leamington Spa, where I was awarded a Distinction in the Professional Licentiate in Traditional Acupuncture as well as being Highly Commended for my clinical work. My training was extensive and covered all aspects of Chinese medical and acupuncture theory, with a focus on the Five Element approach. Five Element Acupuncture considers a person’s immediate symptoms, as well as addressing wider issues that interfere with general health and wellbeing.
Prior to my relocation to Wickersley in 2018, I had a flourishing clinic in Guildford, Surrey. In addition I provided acupuncture support at a cancer unit within the Royal Surrey Hospital. I have experience treating a wide range of medical conditions and musculoskeletal injuries, and a particular interest in treating patients with a past/present cancer diagnosis.
As a full member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) I adhere to the Council’s Codes of Safe Practice and Professional Conduct. BAcC members are also registered with the Professional Standards Authority, a government body set up to regulate health and social care providers that is accountable to Parliament.
My clinic is licensed by Rotherham Council, and I hold full medical malpractice and public/products liability insurance cover.
